ABOUT FESSLER NURSERY

Fessler Nursery has been growing quality plants since 1960. What once was a small operation has grown to over 800,000 square feet of greenhouse space offering spring annual bedding plants and baskets, fuchsias, poinsettias and houseplants. We have served three generations of families who make an annual trek to Fessler’s as part of their spring tradition.  At Fessler Nursery you will find the kind of quality that you’d expect from a hands-on, family-owned and operated business.

Fessler Nursery serves primarily wholesale customers, however our greenhouses are open to the public April through June. Come check out our wide variety and huge inventory of hanging baskets, geraniums, impatiens, petunias, numerous trailing plants, coleus, houseplants and much more—all at exceptional savings.

Come visit our retail area for Poinsettia season from mid-November to Christmas eve!

Fessler Nursery was founded in 1960 by Ken and Marie Fessler.  Both with roots in the Willamette Valley, they knew their Woodburn farm was the right place to build a greenhouse.  They began growing florist azaleas and later started to specialize in fuchsias.  The once tiny nursery now employs between 35 and 40 people and has grown to over 800,000 square feet of greenhouse space.

As the nursery grew, so did the Fessler family.  Ken and Marie have five children and 10 grandchildren.  Today two sons, Dale and Marvin, and one daughter, Debbie (our propagator), run the operation.  Although Ken and Marie have “retired”, you’ll still see Ken out planting, trimming or watering just about every day.

In 2004, the nursery became a Root-and-Sell location for Selecta One, a breeding company of new and exciting annuals. These cuttings, once rooted, are sold to other nurseries throughout the country.

In 2006, we added Tropical Foliage/Houseplants to our wholesale product line. We now grow over 70 varieties of ferns, houseplants, succulents and tropicals.
